The Withings company plans to invest $30 million over three years to develop recommendations for users in their devices.

Withings intends to integrate 8fit services into its own devices to make them more personalized.

The parties did not disclose the terms of the deal.

8fit was founded in 2014. The startup offers nutrition and workout recommendations based on height, weight, physique and goal. The app costs $25 a month or $79 a year. According to its own data, the app has been downloaded 40 million times since it was created and is available in six languages. Revenue for the service exceeds $1 million a month.

Withings is engaged in the production of "smart" scales that can assess the nervous activity and make ECG, tonometers, "smart" watches, devices for sleep analysis.

The company was founded in 2009. In 2016, it was bought by Nokia to produce health devices under its own brand. In May 2018, Withings was bought back by its co-founder Eric Carrel, and now the company operates independently.
