The rating of the safest and fastest browsers for comfortable web surfing has been compiled.
In Germany, experts from the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) have compiled a rating of the top 5 best browsers that meet modern security standards. According to the experts, Firefox scored the highest marks for security and speed.

Mozilla Firefox
Mozilla has perfectly coped with its task to improve and support its Firefox browser, which is also a real veteran in the ranking. As you know, "an old horse will not spoil the furrow", and Mozilla confirms this proverb. This year, the web browser received the biggest update for the first time in 13 years, which made it the most secure and fastest: a complete refactoring of the Firefox Quantum code allowed to achieve incredible memory savings that Google Chrome could not even dream of. Mozilla is a non-profit organization, which means it has no incentive to sell its users' data like some other browser developers. Moreover, recent improvements have added support for passwordless login and automatic blocking of ad trackers. Advantages of the browser: fast, economical to RAM and has a lot of built-in security tools. According to BSI experts, Firefox has no disadvantages at all.

Google Chrome
In second place was the famous Google Chrome. The most popular browser from the search giant has received truly popular love. But when it comes to optimization, it seriously loses to Firefox. Chrome's greed for RAM is so legendary that its main drawback has even become an Internet meme. This sad fact did not allow Chrome to take the lead. But if your computer has a large amount of RAM, then this disadvantage can be generally leveled, because Chrome has much more advantages. Browser trumps: maximum comfort in use, a huge base of extensions, extremely simple interface and transparent settings. Google has used Chrome as a tool to introduce the idea of global Internet security, aggressively promoting the HTTPS protocol instead of insecure HTTP to make it the standard for the entire network. The latest versions of Chrome warn its users about the high risks of visiting HTTP sites, which was positively assessed by BSI security experts.

Opera
Opera is the most underrated browser in the world. Many users bypass it, and in vain - it is perfectly equipped, protected and configured for maximum comfort, so much so that after installation you do not even need to add any extensions. It works as fast as Chrome, and starts up even faster.Opera has a lot of advantages. Experts strongly recommend using Opera to those who are interested in their own security and privacy thanks to the built-in free VPN, which hides the user's real IP address. There is a built-in ad blocker and protection against cryptominers, which is also a significant plus. But the main trump card of the browser is Opera Turbo mode, which speeds up the loading of pages with a slow Internet connection, which also saves traffic. With such a huge mass of advantages, Opera is almost invisible to Internet users, occupying only 1% of the browser market. Also, Opera has a very meager set of plug-ins, inferior to the above competitors.

Microsoft Edge
BSI security experts appreciated Microsoft's work to improve its EDGE browser. However, we are not talking about the original browser of 2015, which appeared with Windows 10, but its improved version - Edge Chromium, which is currently being developed on the same engine on which Chrome is created. The new and improved Edge is a very good browser that offers most of the benefits of Chrome without taking up too much memory. Moreover, during the development of Edge Chromium, Microsoft did not hide its discoveries, and shared its experience with Google to improve the browser, such as smooth scrolling and optimization of the program for weak computers. Edge Chromium is currently in beta, but it can be tested for free by any user of Windows 10, Windows 7, macOS and even iOS operating systems. The full version of the browser will be released next year along with a major update of Windows 20H1 (version 2003).

Vivaldi
The philosophy of Vivaldi is that every browser user can customize it to his taste. Absolutely any interface element and internal options can be configured in it - it all depends on the user and his preferences.Vivaldi has a built-in note-taking system, sites can be pinned to sidebars, using the main window for the main overview, and researchers have evaluated innovative technologies like tab grouping, as well as their own developments to improve privacy. Vivaldi is also built on Chromium and works with all add-ons from the Chrome Web Store. The main drawback of the browser: not the fastest work, but it does not make it worse, but simply does not allow it to rise above the fifth position of the rating.
