Campaigning for a Drug-Free Future
In a remarkable stride towards creating a healthier society, Dyal Singh College, Karnal takes the lead in the statewide campaign for a drug-free Haryana. The profound significance of this initiative lies not just in its message, but in the active participation of students who are being groomed as ambassadors for change. Through the enthusiastic organization by the Drug and Tobacco Control Cell in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS), the event has beautifully blended awareness with creativity.
Creative Engagement for Awareness
The event was an inspiring amalgamation of slogan-writing, essay-writing, and poster-making activities, aimed not only to spread awareness but also to engage the young minds in a manner that they resonate with. Principal Ashima Gakkhar, along with Nodal Officer Dr. Vivek Parkash and NSS Programme Officers, were pivotal in ensuring the program’s success. This initiative stands as a testament to the indomitable spirit of youth, ready to lead the charge toward a drug-free future.
Mega Job Fair: A Gateway to Opportunities
The spirit of nurturing societal wellness extended beyond awareness, as seen in the mega job fair organized by the Training and Employment Cell of Guru Nanak Khalsa College. This event became a beacon of hope for 408 aspiring professionals, with over 15 companies, including major banks and corporations, offering career opportunities. Such events not only provide employment prospects but foster a culture of professional excellence.
Blood Donation: A Noble Act with Health Benefits
In Sonepat, the recent blood donation camp at Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University also highlighted how giving back to society can have personal health benefits. With 158 units collected, participants, including Mayor Rajiv Jain and Vice-Chancellor Shri Prakash Singh, emphasized the mutual benefits of such noble acts. According to The Tribune, donating blood reduces heart attack risks and prevents blood clotting, dispelling myths about donor weakness.
Financial Literacy in the Digital Age
Furthering empowerment through knowledge, the Commerce Department of Indira Gandhi (PG) Mahila Mahavidaylaya, Kaithal, held an enlightening lecture on financial literacy. President Ram Bahadur Khurania’s presence and Dharmendra Kathuria’s insightful talk educated students on crucial aspects such as cybercrime prevention and security in digital transactions, equipping them with the wisdom to safely navigate financial waters.
These activities across campuses highlight the convergence of innovation, awareness, and education, paving the path for empowered, healthy, and professionally equipped young minds to steer the future of Haryana.
