Iberdrola SA has launched Europe's largest solar power plant in western Spain. This should allow the country to reduce its dependence on fossil fuels. Now electricity in Spain is almost three times more expensive than the 5-year seasonal average.

The new station consists of 1.5 solar panels. The energy it produces will be able to power more than 334,000 homes. According to forecasts by Bloomberg, if Spain maintains the pace of construction of solar power plants, their capacity will reach 66 gigawatts by 2030.
