Mikhail Fridman offers to transfer $1 billion of his personal fortune to a Ukrainian subsidiary of the bank he founded, in the hope of easing sanctions. The businessman himself denies this.

According to WSJ sources, dozens of oligarchs and firms are applying for sanctions relief. The Ukrainian authorities have considered the possibility of creating a fund into which Russians who are under sanctions could contribute money. It is unclear whether this would help ease the impact of the sanctions.

The British authorities have stated that they are categorically against such actions.
