Oleg Shibanov, director of the Center for Research in Financial Technologies and Digital Economy SKOLKOVO-RASH, predicted the future of the dollar in the era of "the third form of currency. It is reported by the agency "Prime".
According to him, many countries are developing digital currencies, but China and a number of other developing countries, including Russia, are the fastest to introduce their currencies.

The economist noted that the mass use of digital yuan by citizens and companies in China is possible as early as next year. "It should be noted that this is not a transition, but only introduces a third form of currency in addition to cash and electronic forms," he said.
Shibanov noted that the U.S. currency today is the leading means of payment for the world central banks, capital markets, as well as international financial markets. According to him, it is too early to talk about an instant rejection of the dollar in favor of new forms of currency.

Earlier, analyst of FG Finam Andrei Maslov said that in fact the ruble is no longer a freely convertible currency, and the meaning of the current values of the exchange rate is different from the usual in economic terms. In particular, the strengthening of the ruble will have an insignificant impact on prices in stores, because the main problem is still not the cost of imports, but the inability to deliver the goods.
