US cannabis seedling supplier Mendocino Clone Company has announced  that it will join the EMTRI project.

Participants in the project will use blockchain to track seedlings, confirm their authenticity and origin. This not only allows for streamlined and cheaper record-keeping, but also reduces the number of counterfeits on the market.

As part of the project, each seedling will receive a 'certificate of authenticity', a smart contract that allows the raw material to be tracked from the farm to the specific point where the finished product is sold.

The first batch of seedlings will arrive on the market at the beginning of February. Notably, buyers of the product will be able to earn EMT tokens.
