Project LunarCrush plans to send a private wallet key containing 62 BTC ($1.7 million) to the moon on a SpaceX rocket.
The mission is scheduled to launch this fall. The private key will be engraved on a plaque that will be attached to the MAPP moon rover. Anyone who can get their hands on it will be able to withdraw all funds from their wallet.
Elon Musk has yet to comment on the initiative.
