China's Dalian Wanda Group will retain control of the company
Investment company Apollo Global Management will invest $760 million in the film company Legendary Entertainment in exchange for a minority stake. The parties did not disclose the size of the stake or the valuation of the company.
WSJ sources say the controlling stake will remain with China's Dalian Wanda Group, which bought it for $3.5 billion in 2016.
Legendary Entertainment was founded in 2000. The company has produced "The Dark Knight," "Interstellar," "Dune" and other films.
In May 2021, Apollo Global Management bought Yahoo and AOL media holding company, owner of TechCrunch and Engadget, for $5 billion.
