On a vigorous Sunday address, Chouhan urged chief ministers to step up and vigilantly monitor fertiliser production and sales. The fight against forced tagging of nano-fertilisers alongside traditional products was also emphasized as crucial.

Chouhan’s directive is not merely a suggestion but a mandate, reinforcing the legal landscape. The minister stressed stringent legal actions, including the cancellation of licenses and registering FIRs against perpetrators, to ensure effective prosecution and conviction. As stated in NDTV Profit, the Fertiliser (Control) Order, 1985, prohibits the sale of counterfeit fertilisers, firmly anchored in the Essential Commodities Act, 1955.
