Teacher Kwakye, born August 8, 1949, excelled in his field, starting his academic journey at Akyem Awisa and moving through the ranks of educational excellence at institutions such as the Ghana Secondary Technical School and University of Cape Coast. The fund was launched during the first anniversary of his passing at the Calvary Presbyterian Church in Akyem Awisa, with Rev. Harrison Amponsah officiating the ceremony.
