In an inspiring and transformative initiative spearheaded by Prudential Life Insurance Company Limited and Junior Achievement Vietnam, the Cha-Ching Financial Education Project has successfully equipped over 100,000 Vietnamese children with vital financial management skills. Entering its fifth year, this project continues to leave a significant imprint across the Central and Southern regions of Vietnam.

Embracing Financial Literacy at a Young Age

For the first time, a launching ceremony for Cha-Ching was held at a primary school in Quang Binh, marking its monumental expansion across the country’s varied landscapes. Students engaged enthusiastically in this journey through an interactive game experience, where the theme revolved around financial management using crossword puzzles, quizzes, and the engaging online game “Financial Adventure with Cha-Ching.” These activities are carefully designed to instill essential skills such as earning, saving, spending, and donating money in an approachable and enjoyable manner.

Ceremony Insights and Future Plans

The project, marked by lively engagement, will further its reach in October, making its debut in two more primary schools across Hoa Binh and Dong Thap provinces. The community is highly supportive, with Ms. Nguyen Thi Huyen, the Principal of Nam Ly Primary School No. 1, acknowledging the meaningful impact this initiative is set to have on students’ futures. JA Vietnam’s CEO, Ms. Doan Bich Ngoc, emphasized the significance of preparing young minds for financial independence and responsibility.

A Collaborated Effort Toward Change

Owing to the rigorous testing since the 2018-2019 school year, the Cha-Ching curriculum swiftly earned approval from the Ministry of Education and Training for its widespread adoption in Vietnam’s primary schools. As Cha-Ching spreads its wings across regions like Hanoi, Hoa Binh, and Quang Ninh, it adapts to the diverse consumer cultures and financial habits, ensuring a tailored teaching approach for maximum impact.

Building a Sustainable Financial Education Model

Now in its fifth year, the project’s 360-degree education model offers an all-encompassing suite of educational tools, including musical films, interactive materials, and community festivals, all dedicated to enhancing financial literacy for children. Prudential recognizes the Cha-Ching project as a cornerstone in educational efforts, aiming for sustainability and replicability across future generations.

“We remain committed to expanding the Cha-Ching program, ensuring a young generation that is financially vigilant and independent,” asserts Mr. Phuong Tien Minh, General Director of Prudential Vietnam.
