Credit Suisse chief predicted banks to have employees working remotely forever

Thomas Gottstein, the head of the investment bank Credit Suisse, speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, predicted that banks around the world will work remotely forever. His words are quoted by Bloomberg.
According to Gottstein, many bank employees in different countries do not want to return to the office, even despite entreaties from their bosses. "We're gently trying to encourage people to come back, but if you insist too much, it will be counterproductive," said the head of Credit Suisse.

European banks are most loyal to their employees' desires to work from home, while U.S. banks have traditionally been less deferential to employees' opinions. Hybrid schedule has already been introduced in the French BNP Paribas, the Spanish Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria and Swiss UBS.
Credit Suisse's internal rules dictate that at least 60 percent of employees work from the office. In reality, however, about 37 percent of employees are regularly in the office.
